The RSPB Flying V Scarf is made of beautifully soft coral-coloured cotton and features flying Geese depicted in a muted yellow.
Scientists think birds fly in their ‘V’ formation when migrating to save energy. Each bird takes its turn at the front, moving backwards when it gets tired. Though obviously to the right or left of the bird in front, it is also flying slightly higher too. This position is to take full advantage of the fact that the wall of air in front has already been ‘broken up’ by the bird in front, making it easier to fly with less energy!
