The Booted Bantam Mug by Madeleine Floyd depicts the striking chicken with his “boots” of abundant feathers on the feet and shanks.
As well as his distinctive boots, the Booted Bantam is also recognisable by the long stiff feathers pointing down from the backs of the thighs and almost reaching the ground – known as vulture hocks!
On the reverse side of the mug is the single, pale tinted egg of the Booted Bantam (though they’re kept mainly for showing, this breed does lay around 120 eggs a year).
