One of the largest raptors in the world, the bald eagle lives near water, and eats fish, ducks, snakes and turtles but will also take rabbits, muskrats, and dead animals.  In common with other raptors, the female is larger than the male.  These are tree-nesting birds and what a pile!  Nests can weigh up to a tonne, and occupy a space nearly 3m squared.  The Bald Eagle card by Arch and Ivy shows the magnificent eagle’s head and shoulders against a dark blue background and is based on artist Lara Burrows’ original artwork.
