Hare and Hedgerow Greetings Card by Rachel Hudson
£3.50The Hare and Hedgerow Greetings Card by Rachel Hudson cleverly combines the distinctive features of the brown hare with a stylised rendition of a hedgerow complete with a blackbird in silhouette in the foreground. That’s what we call great composition!
Hares, with their large hind legs and distinctive long, black-tipped ears, can run at up 45 mph when escaping danger. The females are known for their spring-time boxing. When the attentions of the male are unwanted and subtler communications don’t hit the spot, the female will make clear her disinclination for his attentions, and will resort to physical means if necessary!

Seals and Sea Urchin Greetings Card by Rachel Hudson
£3.50The Seals and Sea Urchin Greetings Card by Rachel Hudsonshows grey seals swimming and basking in and around rock pools, with a splendid, delicate pink sea urchin in the foreground.
Grey seals spend most of their time out at sea and may range widely in search of prey. Half of the world’s population of grey seals are found around UK coasts. The fluffy white pups are born between September and December. The grey seal is distinguised from the common seal by its larger size and longer head, with a sloping “Roman nose” profile.
The pink sea urchin in this illustration is the Edible Sea Urchin and that shell (or teste to give it its proper name) can be as big as 15cm in diameter). Its tube-like feet help them move around rocks and stop them from being washed away.

Otter Greetings Card by Rachel Hudson
£3.50The Otter Greetings Card by Rachel Hudson shows the UK’s only native otter, Lutra lutra, enjoying a meal of crab atop a sea cliff overlooking Mull’s main town of Tobermory.
Whilst otters can be seen throughout the UK, the otters of Mull are particularly well-loved as they feed throughout the day. This means they’re more readily spotted than their southern relatives whose nocturnal hunting habits make them less frequently seen.

Swallows and Sleeping Sheep greetings card by Rachel Hudson
£3.50The Swallows and Sleeping Sheep greetings card by Rachel Hudson is an evocative Hebridean-inspired greetings card featuring an original illustration of two Scottish Blackface sheep dozing while swallows swoosh past.
Though named as though it’s a truly cross-border dweller, the breed actually originates from England not Scotland! With its impressive horns, black face and snowy white wool, the hills and uplands of Great Britain would not be the same without the Blackface.

Foxes are social animals and live in loose family groups. These are normally made up of a breeding male, female and their young. The litter of four or five cubs, which are born in an underground den, are then cared for by both the male and female. By autumn, the cubs are fully self-sufficient. Some will leave to establish their own territories, while others may remain with the family group. Those that stay sometimes help their parents to raise the following year’s young.
