Blackbird Greetings Card

The Blackbird is found throughout Britain and is particularly to be seen in parks and gardens.  You may hear it from January onwards often after rain (every cloud has a silver lining!).   It is also a home loving bird – most do not move far from where they hatched, in order to make a nest and have their own family.

Designed by the highly skilled artist Stephen Lennon, the Blackbird greetings card is part of his Songbirds and Seedheads range.  It elevates the humble blackbird to a new status we believe (and yes, we’re biased), showing the bird in splendid juxtaposition to both the seedheads and the acidic green of its surroundings.  All Stephen’s designs start as a drawing, often from life, and inspired and informed by his knowledge and love of botany, honed during his time as a nurseryman.  His cards are printed locally (he’s a Yorkshireman in exile, now to be found in Northumberland) and the production of them supports many small businesses.
