Hoopoe and Bee Greetings Card by Kate Heiss

Designed by the highly skilled print maker and textile designer Kate Heiss, the Hoopoe and Bee greetings card is inspired by the beautiful north Norfolk countryside.   This card features a wonderfully regal Hoopoe sporting his distinctive crown and delicately curved beak, against a background of flowers and foliage, accompanied by a bee, a beetle, a moth and a caterpillar – what a bargain!

The Hoopoe is one of our top five birds at Bee Eater!!  It is named for the distinctive call of the male during the breeding season.  Hoopoes are particularly enthusiastic foragers of animal droppings and dung heaps, searching for beetles.

Japanese Quince Greetings Card

£2.75

Japanese Quince Greetings Card

The Japanese Quince with its red flowers, spiny branches and glossy, oval, dark green leaves is a glad sight for gardeners in Spring as it brings a splash of colour to the garden.  It is also greatly welcomed by bees as it flowers earlier than most pollen- and nectar-bearing plants and thus is a source of food at a time of relative scarcity.  As well as its Spring blossoms it bears apple-like fruit from November to January.

Designed by the highly skilled artist Stephen Lennon, the Japanese Quince greetings card is part of his Everyday Botanicals range.  Like all Stephen’s designs it started as a drawing, such an accurate one that we are pretty sure those are white-tailed bumble bees depicted on the quince blossoms!  His cards are printed locally (he’s a Yorkshireman in exile, now to be found in Northumberland) and the production of them supports many small businesses.

Dimensions square (14cm x 14cm) • FSC accredited carbon offset high white board • Blank inside • White envelope • Biodegradable compostable cellophane wrapped • Standard Letter Post
