Evening Primrose Greetings Card by Kate Heiss
Designed by the highly skilled print maker and textile designer Kate Heiss, the Evening Primrose greetings card is inspired by the beautiful north Norfolk coastline. The evening primrose blooms during the spring and summer, its flowers opening late in the afternoon and closing at sunrise, hence its name. Their lemony fragrance attracts moths, which are the main pollinators of this plant. Almost dwarfed by the primrose’s petals a stone chat with smart red frontage perches on gorse, and a single black-headed gull soars over the sea.
The artwork has been created using lino cut printing and heavy debossing (imprinted shapes) on board sourced from one of the oldest paper mills in the country, in the Lake District.
