Woodpeckers

The woodpecker is one of the UK’s most well-loved garden birds whose numbers are, thankfully, increasing.  Often heard before they are seen, woodpeckers are acrobatic feeders, content with nuts, suet and mealworms.  Their tongue is up to 4cm long so little is out of reach!  The Woodpecker card by Arch and Ivy shows the great spotted woodpecker on a stylised trunk with delicate leaves in the dark green background and is based on artist Lara Burrows’ original artwork.
