If you’re lucky enough to spot this regal wader in real life, you’ll love this Grey Heron and Bullrushes Greetings Card.  The Grey Heron is remarkable – it’s egg is the same size as that of a chicken, yet the grown bird can reach a metre in height and has a wingspan of up to 2 metres.  It can reach speeds of 30 miles per hour in flight, and roosts in trees.

Designed by the highly skilled artist Stephen Lennon, the Grey Heron card is part of his Wildfowl and Wetland Birds range.  All Stephen’s designs start as a drawing, often from life.  His cards are printed locally (he’s a Yorkshireman in exile, now to be found in Northumberland) and the production of them supports many small businesses.
